We are growing a collective of practitioners and organisations, working at the intersection of social, environmental and health justice.

We are passionate about creating this much-needed organising infrastructure and place of respite in the heart of the Peak District - a support for community-led action in response to today's intersecting crises.

In 2025, we established The Beeches Collective to grow an intergenerational community of people, organisations and stakeholders to democratically own and manage the property together.

In recognising the need to shift power and to help reverse centuries of land enclosures for private gain, we are developing participatory decision-making and governance structures to look after The Beeches as a broad coalition of partners.

So far, as a collective we work across migrant solidarity, youth activism, education systems change, political movement-building, agroecology, the arts and health & social care. Together we’re trying to overcome the systemic barriers that deny people the opportunity to gather, share, learn, play and connect as a community and with the land.

Recognising the deep interconnection between all parts of the system and between our social change movements, The Beeches exists to help our movements engage in pluralistic, intergenerational, and intersectional organising, building healthy power within and across different causes.

bridging stewards

Together we’re helping lay healthy foundations for The Beeches for many to participate in and benefit from.

a growing ecosystem of support

The Beeches is coming to life thanks to the support of an incredible and ever growing network of people and organisations.
